what systems don't require welding?
I'm leavin in a minute to drive up to Massechusetts to pick up an '87 Iroc I just bought on eBay (16 hours away
). Anyway, the first thing I want to do to it is get new exhaust. I know alot of systems require you to weld the pipes.....which ones just bolt together? I'm looking to spend $400 max on parts, and install myself. I've looked around at a couple websites....Borla, Dynomax, Magnaflow, Flowmaster....but just got confused. I don't have emissions testing so that doesn't matter.....but i'm gettin a new cam soon and want this thing to make people turn around to see who's car is rumblin so loud.
alot of people talk about a cat cut-out, which i think is puttin a y-pipe before the cat so you can run open headers when you want. does anybody ever just remove the cat, and run straight pipe to the exhaust?
any advice on brands or set-ups is appreciated....and if someone was about to say it....yeah i already searched a good bit but still was unsure about some stuff...thanks for the info

IMO the Banks sounds great, all stainless ,all bolt on and will come in under your $400 mark..This system is very throaty at idle, but open it up and it BARKS at everyone in the area..definately the one to get for the $$

If you don't want to weld and don't have emissions check out www.macperformance.com their systems bolt up with flanges and they sell a flanged off road pipe to replace the cat. No welding at all and it should fit into your $400 budget. Also, word is these systems sound good and get loud when you open it up.
