Getting new exhaust questions.....
Getting new exhaust questions.....
Yo.
One of my tail pipes fell off yesterday, So I figure now is as good a time as any to get new exhaust. But I've got a lot of question because I don't know jack about exhaust.....If you answer any of the following for me I'd be very appreciative.
I'm kinda of short on money right now so what I want to do is get a catback and a 3" catalytic converter installed, but I want to do so in a way that when I can afford the headers the will be easy to get in.
I've pretty much decided on the hooker catback which has a 3" intermidiate pipe. So my first question is what would be the easiest cat converter to install with that? I see that there are direct fit cats but I don't think any of them had 3" in/out's. So if I just get a universil fit will it take a lot of fabrication to put it in?
Next I'm sure I need some kind of reducer to go from my new cat converter to the stock Y pipe which I beleive is 2 1/4".....correct me if I'm wrong on that. Would that be something I should buy ahead of time and install myself?
I was hoping to be able to bolt all this up myself and then have a friend of mine tack weld everything in place.
Thanx guys,
Any help or insight is greatly appreciated.....
Bryce
