need help with cat
i had to remove all my emissions crap and the computer because it was choking my new motor. i changed the carb and distributer as well. my car had an air pump going to a dynomax high flow cat. i took the air pump off the car with all the emissions crap. my question is, will that mess up my cat(not having the air pump). i'm starting to get all the signs of a bad cat (backfiring, popping, stalling, nad poor gas milage). let me know what you think. thanks alot.

Tha purpose of the air going to the cat is to provde more oxegen for it to burn.
I would imagine that without that extra air, the cat would be unable to burn the left over fuel/oil/etc so yes i would say It might contribute to the clogging of your cat..
