Big Block exhaust
Well I am buying a rolling chasis and it is set up for a big block. I was wondering what you guys are doing for exhaust? I think I am going to go with the hooker headers just because of the price. What are you big block guys doing after the headers???? Are there any other cheap headers that I can get off the shelf? Is there any catless x pipes that will fit the big block set up and end where a small blocks x pipe is so I can run a true dual cat back or custom cat back?
good luck with headers on a big block.. you WILL have clearance problems... it CAN be done.. you either have to buy a pair, and have them bent slightly where they need to be moved ... OR buy block huggers,
do a search on dual exhaust, and you should find everything that you need to know, about after header set-ups

You can get the Hookers, but modification will be necessary. Check out Coolmeister's page for details. The other thing with the hookers is that they exit at the sides so the collector is visible from the side of the car. There's a guy on here, can't remember his name currently, but he has a blown 468 bbc and is running those headers, he has some pics of the side exit. Your other option is to get a set of custom ones, but it's costly. A set from Lemon's will run you $900 plus another $200 or so for ceramic coating (you wouldn't want to spend $900 on headers and let them rust). They won't require any modifications though, but personally I don't think it's worth the $500 extra unless you're running a high power motor and need bigger primaries. After the headers there's not much room, I would go with a set of 4" round mufflers (bullets, spiral flows, etc.) and 3" pipe dumping before the rear axle.
