Anybody ever do this to their cats...
Gut them and put a straight pipe through them?
If so, what diameter pipe was used and how was it done?
I’m planning on cutting the air tube that cuts across the inside of the cat and inserting a pipe through it.
I want to avoid rattles so if anybody has done this, let me know.
Thanks!

That's what I did.
My pipes are 2 1/4 inch so I bought a pair of 2 1/4 piped that were 18 inches long. From there I cut the cats off right at the welds of the cats. If you look closely, the cat is actually a shell thaqt is actually larger than the stock pipe with 2 peices of pipe coming out of it. If you cut those welds, the pipes will come right out. From there you can hog the cat out and then slide the new pipe through. From there you can weld the shell to the pipe and it will look like the original one. After a few days, it looks like it was ment to be there. You can't even tell mine are this way.
Hope that helps.

What did you use to cut the AIR tube in the middle?

I didn't. Just bent the tube out of the way. In AZ we have to pass a visual so the air tube just goes into the cat and that's it.
