Stuff on Cutouts I found
I just noticed this. Mr Gasket makes a cutout that you control with a cable! Summit
I would get it if it came in 3 in. Anyone else know of anything like this?
If not I would like to get summits cutout. Not a bad deal for 26 bucks
Later in the future would be an electric cutout. We'll see if another deal comes around.

the pull cable one sucks in my opinion. the cable gets caught and won't push/pull sometimes. i always ran with mine open, so i just took the cable off and kept it open all the time.
if u like those youll love the quick time electric cut outs you can adjust the with a switch. makes a goos sounding echoe if you open them half way. they come in 2 1/4 2 1/5 and 3 inch

If I wanted to get an electric cutout, it would most likely be a Mccord. I don't know of any others that will bolt up to a cutout. Wait, now that I said that I thought of this. Buick

Finally got around to ordering my headers and I guess now would be a good time to look into cut outs.

I also just took a look at the qtec vs the mccord and I just think the qtec is built better in general. They are both good designs, and if you are happy with yours that is all that counts, but from a design standpoint, I think the qtec is a little better.

Exaclty...they are all metal.....I should know..I have one...haha
...not sure where 25th heard they had plastic parts in'em?....but your open to which brand you would like to go with. I found McCord's website first....they had a good price, a good gaurantee, and were very helpful...so...that's why I went with the McCord..... nope, if you look on their website it will even tell you it still has the nylon gears in it. It tries to say that it doesn't matter because it isn't effected by heat, blah, blah , blah. Still doesn't sit well with me. Like I said though, as long as you are happy with yours nothing else matters.

you would have to make a new flange since the width is about 4" and it needs to be shorter anyway... then since you cant just get a oval butterfly, id have to make one.... then get a longer shaft for the butterfly to turn on...
about the only thing i could reuse would be the bearings and the elec motor.

too much work..... if i had a CNC mill, i might attempt it, but right now, i dont have the tools needed to make one.

well, i want long tubes and i like to drive my car hard on the street.
most guys with longtubes have to go really slow over bumps to keep from scraping the exhaust... the headers themselves are close enough to the wheel that its usually not a issue, but where the exhaust goes after that is..
my plan is to make a y pipe out of oval tube for the best ground clearance... the y pipe will lead into a "catback" in the tranny tunnel...
for my personal amusement and the track, id like to have 2 elec cutouts behind each header.... right now, when i custom make my collector to oval adapter, im going to try to wedge the cutout on at a angle to make it clear nice.... it cant be the lowest point, so its not exactly easy.
if i had a oval one, i could just put it in a oval Y cutout and have the cutout and the clearance.
