im looking for opinions on the 1.75" ceramic coated shorty headers with a y-pipe ending in 3" by either edelbrock or SLP

instalation opinions, fittment issues, power differences, finish quality, prices, things of that nature...

Edelbrock doesn't make 1 3/4 headers, and you wouldn't want it either with that engine. I'd just go with the hooker 2055's anyways. Check the sticky at the top of the page.

I measured mine, and it came out to exactly 2 inches. Even if you leave it alone, it's not that big of a deal, but all you have to do is tighten down the y pipe to the headers then take it apart and you will see where they meet. Just grind it open to that mark. Pretty simple.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh,

thanks for the info man, cant wait to get them

i looked on summit and on jegs, jegs says they have a ypipe, and summits pisture looks wrong and they have no mention of a ypipe, id call before i ordered it myself but i wondered if you could tell me what you got with yours where you got it from maybe

i can paint my headers after the black wears off right, im about to search for this but if you knew what i could use let me know...

I bought mine from thunder racing, which is a sponsor here. They came with the headers, y pipe, and all gaskets and bolts you need.

?

are the bolts and gaskets you got the same as what i might get, would soft metal gaskets work
and id get locking headers bolts any way just cause i want no hassle after words

should i start my car and let the inside paint burn off as not to clog the cat with paint chips
i mean i was gonna start my car open headers any ways but this will give me good reason

Everything you mentioned should work, but I wouldn't worry about the paint chipping off and clogging the cat. It'll all just burn off pretty quick and wont hurt anything.
