CUSTOM EXHAUST HELP

Well i was just thinking.....I want an exhaust system that is

a)Inexpensive
b)Has a deep sound to it
c)Has a very deep and loud idle
d)Isnt loud enough to get me pulled over, or better yet...adjustable.

Now i know everyones gonna say that the sound comes from power, and i agree. At first my car wont be anything spectacular, but soon i hope to swap an LT1 w/ LT4 coverson, stroker kit, t56....so it will have power.....

I dont want the loudmouth cause its way too loud
Dont want hooker cause its not loud enough
Dont want flowmaster cause i dont like the flowmaster sound really....
Dont want Borla cause its too expensive
Dont want Banks cause i hear its quiet at idle...
Cant do true duals cause i need ground clearence and its illegal in my state to do that
Will install electric cutout, but wont drive around with that open.

So, what are my options to get the sound i want at the price i want?
Well, i think i'm gonna end up making my own system.
My plan is to incorperate a muffler similar to the Loudmouths or the GMMC's, but somehow use plates like the Borla and be able to adjust it to my liking.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas?
Anyone done this before?

Thanks.....:lala:

Loud, deep and cheap... make your own and stick it at the back bumper with minimal length outlet tips...

If your curious, you can see basically how I made my new one here..
new link for muffler pictures
the roundies are made in a similar fashion.

They also work very well to quiet down noisy air compressors ...

It's almost quiet enough to stand next to it and carry on a conversation w/o having to raise your voice. All you can hear now is the internals of the compressor and a very very faint "wooga" noise from the inlet.

$160 for mandrel-bent true duals, including mufflers

Deadbird, that's awesome! Do you have any fill in them, or is it more of a "turbo" style?

I originally spent around $100 for pipe & bends and another $30-50 for misc..crap (spool of wire, paint, flat & round stock metal, etc). The price for 90°'s has went up like $1 or so recently so I just spent another $50 on redoing the rear section of my exhaust.

Thanks onebinky.. you seem to have done a pretty good job yourself judging by the pic. The mufflers I make use a r-13 acoustical fiberglass insulation.

Hey,
Y dont you get the hooker exhaust and put some cut-outs before your cats. Thats what I did, so i can have the nice mellow tone of the hooker so you wont get tired of the loud exhaust. Then by flippin the switch, i got a mean a$$ sound.
Peace Out,
PsychoGTA:lala:
