Edelbrock TES header modification/cleanup
Decided to clean up my headers before temporarily bolting them to the new engine (getting long tubes later)... Well, it went a little beyond just cleaning them up hehe. Since these aren't going to stay on forever, I cut the air rails off and got rid of the part of the tube that sticks down in the primaries. Didn't do any porting though except for getting rid of one huge glob.
Here's the air injection rail with 1 remaining cut.
Just about done here grinding on the first tube that sticks down into the primaries.
Then I used the good ole oxyacetylene setup to weld the tubes shut.
Here's the finished product after bead blasting and painting with 1500 degree paint. Really weird looking stuff when it drys, almost looks like a powder and flatter than flat black.

i have a set of Edelbrock 6872s on my car. i had a friend of mine to the very same thing to mine, but the welds where he covered the holes on mine look a little smoother. he also ported out each one of the tubes at the opening. as for power gains with the mods, i cannot say because i never drove the car before i put them on. i've been told that a free flowing 3" single exhaust is good enough to go mid 11s.

This was just a quicky job so I wasn't worried about making them pretty lol. They'll do for now till I have enough money to redo the exhaust. Going with Hooker SuperComp long tubes, dual 3 inch into Spintech's pro shootout mufflers (running one right now) I know with saying that people are going to say that it'll be too big for a small block.
