Re: Header collector leak
If it uses a gasket. Throw away the paper gaskets and go with the dead soft copper gaskets. I had a set of summit brand dead soft copper ones for 8 years on mine. Not a single hint of a leak. I think they were $10 for the set when I bought them

Re: Header collector leak
On my TES (L69) there is no gasket on the pass side at all. The header outlet mates to the EFE valve, and its ball flange seals to the Y-pipe. A gasket could possibly be used if necessary between the header & EFE, if so it would be a simple flat 2-1/2" w 2 bolt holes. On the driver's side, it takes a standard 2-1/2" donut if memory serves. The one for a typical big block is perfect. Ask for the donut for about a 76 truck 454. The all-metal type usually works best. Since you don't say what kind of car you have I can't be sure you have the same EFE valve arrangement.

Go with copper gaskets! I've had them for 9 years now and never had a leak. You can actually reuse them many times.

Re: Header collector leak
He doesn't have that stupid leak-everytime 3-bolt crap. (thank goodness) He has something that actually has a prayer of sealing, instead. Those guaranteed to leak and fail 3-bolt gaskets don't apply.
Here's my TES (L69). Again, since the OP didn't tell us what car he has, I can't be sure his match mine exactly, but the difference, if any, will be on the side with the EFE valve.
Note how you can clearly see on mine, NO LEAKS WHATSOEVER, with no gaskets except for the donut on the driver's side, which you can see the accommodation for in the driver's side Y-pipe flange. As said, he can put a gasket between the header and EFE valve (or spacer if he has that) if he wants, but it isn't needed.

Re: Header collector leak
Hey guys, I have a 92 Camaro tpi l98 with edelbrock 6872 headers so I only have 2 holes.
It appears the shop that made my custom Y pipe used my old rusted flanges that I had on the car(I just bolted this up because I didn't want it to be super loud on the way to shop) Anyway, the old rusted 1's are in terrible shape and I assumed since this was a custom y pipe that all of the pipe would be new.
I don't want to get new headers or a new y pipe I just want to seal these up. I have installed the donut gaskets and that helped some but still have leaks at the same spots.

Re: Header collector leak
TES came with its own Y-pipe. It's not all that great (TES in general isn't) except that IT FITS. Sounds like your car isn't the first home for that set, and it didn't get the whole set, besides. Being "custom" all bets are off as to what will fit, why it leaks, etc.
Pics would help.
