If anyone is interested DMH is having a gp at camaroz28.com. It is $150 shipped for the electric cutout opener and $20 more for a cutout. Just wanted to let you guys know if your interested in getting one. I heard these are the best on the market

I think the McCord is like $120. I have heard some bad things about McCord. Remember DMH is top quality and has a great warranty. DMH is pretty expensive too. The price for the GP is so low because there is like 50 + people interested.

Never heard anything bad about the McCord. What have you heard? I might just decide to go with the GP....?

I have heard that the McCords quality is not all that great. Heard about motors that went out after a couple weeks. Then you have to go through the hassle of sending it back and getting it repaired...if you can. Not everyone has had problems with McCord but I have heard enough storys to stay away. I would definetly get in on the gp. If not Qtec also makes cutouts. I heard they have good quality also but DMH is top notch.

Guess it just depends who gets that bad McCords then. I've had mine for about a year with 0 problems. They have a 3 year warranty and are great people to deal with. It cost me $106.00 shipped to my door. I'm glad I went with McCord.

Does anyone have a cut-out from Quick Time Performance? Does it work well?

I’m running a cutout from quick time performance and find it to work great. It’s only been in for about a month now so I have not been on the dyno or at the track yet to see if it makes a difference.

Then how do you close it? It must be either a three-position switch or there's second one. Or does it go all the way open then hit the same button again to close?

Yes, on mine it is a three position switch. I lift up on the switch to open , and push down to close. It takes about 5 seconds to go from fully closed to fully open and you can stop anywhere in between.

Hmm, anyone got any info on this? Is an exhaust better flowing then an exhaust with a closed cutout?

Dyno shop I was at said it would be unnoticable if any. Like MAYBE 1-2HP.

My father explained it to me as "Exhaust will take the root of least resistance" So it wouldnt create any turbulence.

It will by nature. Think of exhaust or even air intake as water flowing. What does water do when it hits a road block, some of it still goes that way and ends up swirling a bit.

Which brand cut-out do you guys recommend? I love the idea of an electric cutout. I didn't even know of them before I read this post LOL!!! I thought about having a setup similar to it but didn't know that companies actually manufactured them.

What have you all used and how have they lasted? Any problems or malfuctions?

Your wrong bro I gained way more that that. At my first run on the dyno stock I got 208 rwhp and 300 rwtq. Then when I got my whole exhaust done from headers all the way to muffler I gained 232 rwhp and 324 rwtq. And then having my cut-outs open I got 244 rwhp and 338 rwtq. You can barely notice the difference yourself, but on the dyno u can see the difference.
Peace Out,
PsychoGTA

no, he was referring to the potential loss of power caused by the cutout causing turbulence in the exhaust stream.
