Stupid ? - > 40 series dumped VS. 80 and tailpipes

Ok, as lame as this sounds just humor me, this is a cheap temp. solution.

Do you think a 40 series flowmaster in front of the axle and dumped would be alot/the same/only a little bit louder than a 80 series crossflow with stock tailpipes?

Rest of exhaust is stock, so this would be ONE 40 series dumped in front of axle instead of the stock location, keep in mind...temporary.

And just leave clearance out of it for the sake of the argument.

The 80 series crossflow is just not much louder than stock on the inside (as in I cant hear much difference driving....) while it is somewhat louder on the outside for others to hear. And so am a little dissapointed in it. Just want something a little louder that is decent for the time being.

Please don't suggest a cutout or any of that, two choices : 40 dumped or leave 80 in stock location?

Thanks for reading, and dont laugh too hard

You gonna run tailpipes ? Or if I am reading this right , you want to have your exhaust exit right in front of the rearend . THat would be real loud , it would resonate in the cab too . But hey if you wanna loud car , then go for it . Good luck !

Yeah I guess thats essentially what I'm asking, the difference between the muffler in back with tailpipes and the muffler in front of the axle, no tailpipes...

You will smell your exhasut with it dumping in front of the axle. But if it is temp, go with your 40 series idea.

Get a 40 series in the stock location.
