Where should I put my exhaust cut out?
Hi I have a 1992 Camaro RS V-8 305. Nothing is modified I do not have headers. My ? is where should I put my exhaust cut out I wanted to put it before my catalytic converter but I was told that it would hurt the performance of my car bad because I do not have headers and there wouldn't be enough back pressure is this true? I was told to install it behind the converter by the rear axle. I had a flowmaster 80 series muffler put on my car for it to be loud but the catalytic converter hinders the sound it should have bad. any suggestions where I should put my cut out to get the strong race car sound without losing a ton of horse power?

Just buy some headers and put it before the Cat. That's what I'm going to do. Check out this thread: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...hreadid=211040

For a 305 I recommend 1 5/8" Shorty's. The brand is up to you. Do you need A.I.R. tubes for emissions? If you have all your original emissions equipment and A/C system, your installation time will take a while. Do a search, this has been brought up before. The one thing I will tell you is to be patient and take your time.
