I have a dual cat setup on my car, and though some have told me to just ditch one, and leave 1, I already bought 2 and I'm going to use two. I have the hooker 2055's w/ypipe, but I was wondering would it be a better to

(a) chop off where the two 2 1/2" pipes meet to form the 3" and run each 2 1/2" to a cat each?
Or
(b) modify like psychoGTA did and just add another 3" pipe off the hooker one, to mate with the other cat?

I want to sacrifice as little ground clearence as possible, since I live in PA and if you've ever been to this state, you need all the clearence you can get.

But I was wondering if I would take a hit in the flow, if I continued the 2 1/2 pipes?

Any help appreciated.

 

continue the 2.5 inch pipes and then get a flowmaster y after the cats

Well I've never been a big fan of cats in the first place, but if you have to have them, you have to have them. Personally I think it would be better just to use 1 cat becasue you will save money, and the 2 cats won't flow much better than one 3" cat.

Just my opinion, though. It's certainly possible to do it the other way, but much more difficult and exspensive.
