exhaust help needed
I figured that id better spend my money while i still have it. and i was thinking about which route to go with my exhaust. I want LOUD.
Im thinking slp headers and a single 3" exhaust. I figure since you cant really see the tips on my car as is now, no since in spending extra money to have extra metal hanging around...
which brings me to question...
#1- A.I.R. do i HAVE to get the headers with the AIR setup?? id rather ditch it, one of the main reasons for this is to clear up some of the clutter under the hood.
#2- they recommend the smaller exhaust(1 5/8) for 305's, but will the larger size(1 3/4) fit, as in bolt up exactly the same? would i benifit more from a larger exhaust if incase in the future i would like to run a low boost supercharger? nothing huge just a lil help. or would the smaller size be enough to flow it as well.
#3 chambered mufflers? do they flow well? how loud are they? is there a better choice? what about the "warlock" mufflers?
any comments/suggestions are appreciated
if theres anything i am missing feel free to add.

There's a sticky-type thread above that says you need A.I.R. for TPI systems. No clue if that extends to carb'd or TBI-type systems.
The 1-3/4's will bolt to a 305 exactly like they do a 350.
Warlocks won't do much in the stock location. Their claim to fame is their ease of uncorking, and uncorking way back there would increase noise, but that's about it. I had a pair of 3" Warlocks on the '57, they cost me about 2-tenths in the quarter corked vs. uncorked, and they aren't that quiet corked.
If you want loud, put in a Bullet muffler (I've got two that replaced the Warlocks last season that are coming out this winter in favor of Summit ovals - I was afraid to drive the thing on the street...).
