Hooker Cat-Back Question

Anyone else have issues w/ the I-pipe hanging low. Right now my I-pipe is hanging about 4 inches off the ground and is slid as far up into the over-the-axle tube as far as I can get it. I think I have a rememedy but wanted to see if anyone else had that issue when they installed theirs. I just want it to sit up closer to the body more for added clearance. Looks to me like I could get 2 inches cut off the I-pipe where it slips up into the over the axle part and it give it an extra couple inches of clearance...

Any thoughts?

Can't say that I have that problem with mine. However it does hang pretty low. I believe it hangs low because of the clearance needed for the over the axle pipe to clear the rear end at it's max travel. Since the exhaust does not flex and it is relatively large there needs to be a gap to keep the rear end from sqaushing the pipe.

I put it in the original post, but didn't make it clear what I was saying. I was thinking of actually cutting about 2 inches off the end of the I-pipe where it slips into the over the axle part, then putting it all back together. That should raise up the I-pipe a couple of inches. All it would be doing is allowing the I-pipe to slip up in to the slip-fit a little farther (by removing a little from the end of the i-pipe).

mine also sits pretty low.... I'm gonna fix it when I take my car out of storage in the spring. I'm gonna make all new brackets and stuff like that.

Chris: If you do cut it take some pics for me and let me know how it works out...
