exhaust tips and exit
hey all, i have a set of polished stainless steel rectangle tips (corvette and newer z style) run on my 91z. i was wondering if any one has a problem with a nasty out of tune trumpet sound?? My exhaust souonds like a$$ around 2k-2400 rpm.. it sounds like a mix between a tuning fork and a *****..
any one else experence this when running the rectangle tips??? also has any one run them out in the center like the c5's?

i have the same stainless tips i think,. it is very embarasing.. like a ric er ...
i went to the gerage and put the car on the lift and found that the problem comes from tips. the inward rolled edge will vibrate like a tuning fork. and with the exhaust force it acts like a trumpet. Im gonna have my exhaust guy weld in a vertical piece of stainless steel in the center pushed back inside the tip... that should stop the rattling. if id doesnt work i will buy some stainless polished ss tips that are rolled out. my exhaust guy says it should fix it.. i will let ya know if it does.. should be after this weeknd.,..
