probably been done, but need opnion:

i've been changing my ideas for my exhaust about once a week since i parked her for the winter, well i think i may have found a winner....

currently i have shorty headers "Y"ed into single 3" all the way back, split into dual 2.5" behind the rear end.

my idea:

right where the cat is supposed to be i'm gonna weld in a 3" in/dual 2.5" out 40 series. then i'm gonna run the dual 2.5" pipes out either side right before the rear tires with nice long 3.5" stainless tips. I think it's gonna sound awesome.....

anybody have a sound clip of a similar setup?

hers a Photoshop-mockup

Yess, I too have thought of something similar. I thought of putting a single out 40 series on the end of my ypipe then just installing a turn down. Keep us allposted on how it goes if you try it. It looks like it could work and would definatrly sound original.

what do you do when you need to pull your driveshaft or torque arm off?

If I were you, I'd have both pipes exit out one side (Like a NASCAR) because I think you will run into clearance issues going under the driveshaft and torque arm with an exhaust pipe.

not to mention won't this have a melting type effect on the ground effects, or negate ground clearance worse than my true dual setup even, since the tips will come out under the ground effects.

It looks like he doesn't have any ground effects

nope guess not....but they'll still exit out pretty low to the ground don't you think? asuming a one inch gap between the body and the tips at least, plus 3inch tips....that's 4inches lower

i have the *** jacked way up so when i hold a 3.5" tip about 1/2" down from the exit point i still have a good 6" of clearance to the ground.

i do have the factory little plastic half-accents right before the rear tires, with about 1/2 inch of clearance and a decent set of tips i don't think melting would be a problem, or atleast hopefully not......
