i am ready to order my Flowmaster american thunder exhaust, but my only concern is my car is a 1985 trans am, and the exhaust (part number 17233) says for '86-'91 and i called the tech line at flowmaster and the guy said something about the shock configuration being different, and doesnt know if it'll fit...


i really want to order this exhaust and planned on ordering like this week, but now i dont know if it will work on my car!???!!,

(he also said the cat wont bolt up, but i am not worried about that, because i am eliminating the cat with a piece of three inch pipe anyways...)
ANY help will help me out alot, thanks guys

 

The cat bolt-up and hangers should be the only difference. If it's a 3rd gen I'm pretty sure they'd have the same shock location, especially when all the suspension parts you order are for 82-92 years.
