How to clean your exhaust
So how can you clean your exhuast pipes and such so that when you go to emissions, you can pass it on the first turn. Also is there a way to clean the catalatic converter? Or do I need to get a new one? How much do they cost?

You can buy an additive at any major auto parts store, it's called CRC "Guaranteed to Pass" emissions test formula fuel system treatment.
You fill up your tank, put this stuff in, and drive the tank away. When you refill, get the car tested. It has never failed me, and I have an '87 with over 200K on the original cat.
Also, if you have a cooler thermostat, swap it to the 195 thermostat, and make shure the car is good and hot when you get it tested.
Good luck

available everywhere
I found mine at Kragen, which is the west coast version of Checker and Shucks (CSK) so they should have it. It is also at Pep Boys, K mart auto, just about everywhere here in Smog **** land. It's about $7 bucks if I remember right.
You are very welcome. Good luck.

I've never seen it work.
The real proof would be to have a vehicle fail, put that stuff in and use it as suggested, then go back and pass the test with no other changes.
Even then, day-to-day test variations could get those results even without the "cleaner".

Well when I got my first bird, it wouldnt pass any emission tests at all. But when I had some work done to the cat. and run my engine really hard to get rid of all the imperaties out of the engine I passed. So hopefully this will help even more thanks again.
