header help and other question.

Hey.

car is a 89 TA with the L03. emissions removed and most of the Ac removed.

Flowtechs are currently in and bolted up EXCEPT the last bolt on the pass side. We cant seem to get it in with that stupid AC box in the way..not from top or bottom...what do you guys suggest? i dont wanna burn up the gasket because it wasnt tightened down back there..any help is appreciated..

also..the flowtech shorties have the threaded part for the 02 sensor but do not have the actual hole in the header..like the bung is welded in there but not all the way through? what should i do here with my 02 sensor?

thanks alot

joe

Unless I'm missing something..that last bolt is just a pain.

You should be able to fit your hand in there to start the bolt and then use cut down wrench to tighten it.

If you can't get is started try loosening the other bolts on that side to get it in.

You need to drill out that hole. That is just a universal bung so that you can use those headers on carb or FI. I drilled mine out without any problems. As for the bolts. It depends on what header bolts you use but I can get a 7/16 wrench from the bottom and get it in. It really isn't to to bad when you lay on your back and reach up there. It helps if the tire on the passenger side is off and the car is kinda high.

Honestly I cannot remember. I picked the biggest bit that would fit in the hole and went at it with my hand held cord drill. Just be carefull not to skip off and damage the threads. It helps to have 2 sets of hands for this so that the header does not jump around on you.
