Okay, what do you guys think? If someone is getting a Spohn 301 Torque arm with new transmission cross member should:-

1. Be brave and run Hooker 2210 Long Tubes and fabricate a true dual set-up (perhaps with oval pipes)? Do you think you'd need to notch the frame rails?

2. Be scared!, and run SLP Shorty headers into a Y-pipe and stock routed exhaust?

Your comments are most welcome.

Decisions, decisions...

I have been thinking along the same lines, and here is what I have settled on:

Install the Torque arm, subframe connectors, etc, and then decide on if you will have room. If you put in either exhaust first, you might regret it.

I would be willing to do some minor hacking to get the Long Tubes in, but not to re-engineer the whole bottom of the car. If you have to make too many wild twists and turns in the exhaust to clear the undercarrige, you will be more likely to have ground clearance problems and that defeats the purpose of the Long tubes in the end.

Just my 2 cents...

I will be running hooker long tubes with a dual system with cutouts x-pipe and dumps before the rear axle. If I go round pipe I'll run chambered bullets. If I go oval I'll run spintech cruzer series mufflers while maintaining ground clearance no lower than at the header collector or alston SFC's..
I have both spohn and alston/TDS subframe connectors, a T56, and a Global West TracLink torque arm, and 3" LS1 driveshaft.......so space is limited. I'd prefer round pipe for cost and because other people will be able to duplicate it easier if they want to go the same route, but I'll go with whatever gives me the most clearance. I will post pics when I'm done.

The car is a weekend street warrior and occasional strip and autocross car.

The thinking is to install all Spohn suspension/chassis parts, both Spohn and Alston SFC's and then work the exhaust around whatever space is left!

Drain89 and KagA152 be sure to post some pics once you are done!

Any more input guys?
