exaust set up, need opinion
I'm still relatively new at this. I wanna get rid of the entire stock setup on my l98. What i want to do is start with hooker 2055's (1 5/8 primaries), 3 inch pipes after that to 2 catco cats, to a single 3.5 inch intermediate pipe, into a flowmaster 80 series with 2.5 outs. Does that sound doable? unecessary? I need a little advice.

Do-able, but excessive.
2.5" downpipes are fine. If you want dual cats, you'll have to cut off the 2055 y-pipe where the downpipes join and run pipes to the dual cats. In case you're wondering about 2.5" pipes, there are plenty of big block 3800 lb Chevelles that run in the 12's with 2.5" duals all the way back.
3" I-pipe is also adequate for most L98's.
If you're willing to settle for a single 3" cat, the whole system is available in bolt-on form. Again, that's adequate for the typical L98.
