y pipe question

Who makes a mandrel bent Y pipe which has at least 2.5" At the colector and 3" out? I just got my headman y pipe.. and boy does it suck. I'm done with headman.. 2.25" and 2.5 out.. my stock pipe is bigger.

One of two answers:

1) The custom performance exhaust shop in your area; or

2) Nobody.

im thinking i will get my muffler shop buddy to help me bend one up after work.. out of 3" so that it would really be 2.5" after you consider the kinking.. then after the Y I would take a piece of 3" and pack it full of sand and cap the ends and bend it. Won't be 3" mandrel but will be better than what I have and what I just bought.

The Hedman down-pipes are probably okay (2-1/4" on each side will handle a pretty healthy 383). The problem lies where the two banks join and head for the cat.

A better alternative to replacing the whole thing would be to cut the "Y" out of the y-pipe, get a 2-1/4" -> 3" Y (such as http://store.summitracing.com/produc...earchtype=ecat ), 3" mandrel bends as needed to get to the cat, and have your bud weld that up for you.
