Shout-out to non-LM SLP exhaust owners
Hey there - all y'all who own the non-loud mouth SLP exhaust systems, how are you liking it after having it a while?? From perusing the message board archives I know there are a few of you out there who have (somewhat) recently installed this system.
I haven't decided on one yet - my main concern is excessive interior noise especially at highway cruising speeds - so please comment on how the interior noise is for you with this system. I wil probably be taking my car on a few long trips each year and I really enjoy road trips so I don't want aany negative interior noise from a new exhaust - like no droning or bad resonance.
Just looking for how you all like the system after driving around with it for a while.
Thanks
K

Now I know there are some guys here with this system - I'm not gonna keep bringing this to the top though and be annoying. Just hoping for some responses though.............

I think I'm buying this kit this week...is it the 3" cat-back with the muffler that exits to two pipes on the driver's side? If it is, then that is the kit I'm buying used from a guy on here. My buddy has it on his '97 Z28, and its not too bad at highway speeds.
Just make sure, when you install it, to have the very end of the exhaust tips past the bumper. If its inside of the bumper (i.e. closer to the rear wheels), then it will reflect off the bumper and resonate into the cabin. That's why I gotta fix my exhaust on my current car because I originally had an exhaust tip on the muffler when I installed it, and now that I took it off, the end of the exhaust system is under my bumper instead of being an inch or two beyond it. If you don't understand this, I'll draw a pic in MS Paint and post it up or something.
In any case, I'd like ot hear what other owners of this system say as well. Obviously my friend has it, but that's on a '97 so I was wondering if the third gens are any different.

What about this ranking
I feel like a goober - replied twice to my own thread........
Open>>borla>gmmg/corsa>flowmaster>hooker>slp(not loudmouth)>>>dynomax
So, who agrees or disagrees with this ranking?? One question is where would the Banks system fall into line here?
Feel free to add systems into the ranking if you feel strongly about where they should be placed - and I realize that this is Debatable too - that should make it interesting.....

Sounds about right from what I've heard. I picked up that 3" SLP system yesterday for $125 from somebody on here
Now I just need to get the car to install it on
A friend of mine should hopefully be buying my car in the next two days, in which case I'll buy the firebird.

i have had compliments that it sounds good at the track, and its fairly loud like it travels far.
at idle its sounds good not ear poping at all, just a nice pitched sound.
