Nox too high?

Nox too high?
just went through e check here in ohio, and failed on the nox , but passed everything else. what gives? will a low temp thermostat help?
by the way did a search on nox and didnt find what i needed.

make sure your egr valve is working, if you run too cool of thermostat it will bring down nox but raise hc and co
