Flowmaster on V6?

Wassup, new guy here. I have a '88 Camaro with a 2.8 liter V6. Right now, everything is stock and I want my car to be louder, but I don't have a lot of money. I am planning on replacing the cat with a straight pipe (no emissions here) and thinking about adding a Flowmaster 80 series. I was wondering if anyone had the 80 series on their V6 or heard one and what they thought of the sound.

I have never heard an Flow. But I have heard a V-Force on one. The same concept as the 80 Series and the same price. I have never seen them in performance parts magazines. ( Summit, Jegs, etc. ) But around here in OK they sell like crazy. Deeper tone than Flow. Not as much interior resonance, but definately louder than the Flow.

It will sound great at idle. My sisters V6 Firebird sounds really good at idle, and has fooled some knowledgable F-body people into thinking it was a Formula LT1 - until she actually drove it.

However, with a high flow cat and the Flowmaster catback its way too loud, and sounds horrible above 3000rpm. I've heard the Dynomax systems on the V6 cars, and they sound pretty good for a 6 banger And I guess it helps that the Dynomax systems are cheaper too!

i have a flowmaster muffler on my 3.1 bird.... its loud, and it burbles resembling a v8, but once you get on it, even down low, its got a higher pitch to it... it doesnt sound like an 8 when u mash the pedal. once you get over 3 grand, it gets *****... it just does, thats what our engines do with aftermarket exhaust...
mine sounds like bees in a can... and half of me almost regrets putting the exhaust on...

ya i have to agree w/ the previous comments. theres a kid here at my school that has a cat back system on his v6 bird and it sounds just about as good as my v8 at idle but once he gets on it it sounds like a sports compact. Then when he's pulling 6 grand out of the parking lot

thats when it sounds horrible.
