cat reccomendation request

friggin hate writing a post, hitting sumbit, and it gets deleted........

anyway...i searched around a little bit and found a couple sound clips of people running straight pipe in place of a cat, and not one of them sounded good. they all sounded WAY to raspy...if i heard it on another car going down the road i'd think that the guy had butchered his exhaust.

anyway, so i guess i'll be running a cat now. my question is: i have a stock L98, so is the stock cat really holding me back? i'm getting a banks catback system soon, but am not sure if i should go aftermarket or stay stock since i'm only pushing 225hp. i'm on a budget now, so unless a hi-flow cat would really help, i probably dont need it.

so that's my first question, if you think i need a new cat (stock one seems to be workin fine, no weird smells, etc).
second question is, if you think i need a new cat, what is a fairly cheap brand that is not a total POS? i was lookin for low price cats ($125 or less) but all i kept coming across were stupid $350 Random Tech cats. so anyway, if you think i should get a new cat, what fairly cheap brand do you recommend

i dont think you really need an aftermarket cat. i just put on flowmaster american thunder on mine and kept the stock cat and it sounds great. some people say that the stock cats are very restrictive, so i guess a new cat would help a little, but not very much. i agree they are very expensive and i didnt think it would help to much so i left it stock. ive seen many posts in here about catco and car sound cats being good if you do decide to get a new one.
