Dynomax vs competition

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone has heard a dynomax muffler on a camaro? I dont like flowmaster and Ravin sucks ***.
A buddy of mine a UTI had a CFM flow testing on the 4 mufflers and said Dynomax came in 1st then ravin and then flowmaster. The application was a 1997 T/A bone stock. Anyways I really dont care how loud it is but I hate the gurggling sound some mufflers make.....like Borla. Please help

dynomax is pretty quiet, actually very close to stock sounding.

I have hooker Lts to a semi-mufflex Y to a 3.5" catback with Dynomax race bullet. I'm going to get a sound clip one of these days, but it sounds great- but WAY too loud for my taste.

I just installed the super turbo cb and hi flow cat on my car. I like it a lot. It isn't loud like the Flows but it does have a nice low grumble to it at idle and a raspy sound to it at about 3500- 4000 rpms. It has given me some low end and better top end performance.

You need to purchase a Dynomax Ultra-Flo, if you want the high cfm rating without buying the race bullet. The super turbo crossflow is rated at less than 400 cfm, and is a serious restriction for a motor with any mods whatsoever. I would know as I had initially installed one of the super turbos, and picked up mph, and feel with a blowmaster. I am about to install the ultra-flo that I just purchased, as soon as I get my valvetrain setup.

I havent heard of the Race Bullet series. What are those like and preferably what application? But ultraflows are the way to go modified or not?

All I can say about the race bullet muffler is that they are VERY loud, and not meant for the street. We have members who are using those mufflers, and they can give you some insight on them. As for the Ultra-Flo, do a search on Traxion, and go to his sight to listen to his sound file. There was a thread here not too long ago that showed the cfm rating of the dynomax crossflow, and it was like 385 or something. It is generally believed that you need 2.2 cfm of exhaust flow for every horsepower that your motor produces. The ultra-flo that I purchased is rated at over 1300 cfm, and it was $70 from Summit. The only (subjective) drawback is that you will have a single tailpipe. I have elected to just run a dump right out of the muffler that can only be seen if you get low to specifically look at my exhaust.

Yeah, the ST Crossflow is 410 cfm and the Ultra Flow is 1100 cfm. My engine isn't modded (only bored 30), so I went with the ST to retain the dual outlet pipes. Even at 410, it is still almost double the cfm of the oem muffler.

If you don't have a very modded engine and don't mind the single out pipe, get the Ultra flow. If you want the dual outlets, get the Super Turbo.

If your engine is modded, stick with the Ultra flow.

Does that make sense?

I may buy one of the other series Dynomax mufflers. This thing is seriously loud and obnoxious.
