exhaust heat valve

I have a 84 lg4. I have a 3inch cat and cat back already purchased. I'm saving for the Hooker 2055's. My LG4 has the exhaust heat valve between the manifold and the exhaust pipe. The headers are not going to be equiped with this are they? .Should I just plug the vacuum hose?

I haven't heard if those in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia have been able to get LG4 vehicles through inspection with 2055's and no EFE valve. I did pass inspection here. I do know Chevy High Performance Magazine used TES headers because they are the only ones available that retain the EFE valve. Furthermore, their 350 dyno test used "similar" TES headers w/o the EFE valve and produced 380+ gross flywheel HP, but when installed in the car with the "proper" TES headers, the car did not perform like it had 380+ FWGHP.

Good ol' RB has shared that he "ported" and gutted his L69 EFE valve. For the sake of the visual inspection, that sounds reasonable, but in order to mount it to 2055's, you'd have to do some collector and y-pipe modifications. And a sharp inspektor would be able to find out that 2055's aren't certified for LG4/L69 use.

Just wondering if you plug the hoses will the valve remained in the closed position at all times? If so this would not be good.
