Whats the best Way To Plug AIR Holes In Exhaust Manifolds???

Whats the best Way To Plug AIR Holes In Exhaust Manifolds???

i just took off my AIR tubes after relocationg my heater contolr valve and removing the entire AIR system but need to know the BEST way to plug up the original AIR holes in the exhaust manifolds. i got the 1/4" pipe plugs should i just screw them in?? ive heard they come loose very easily. i have some QUICKSTEEL, would that help me???

The best thing to plug the A.I.R. holes is A.I.R. tubes.

lol i guess youre five7 but i dont have those anymore (well i have them in about 20 pieces) but the SECOND best thing would be what?????? o and for some reason the plugs i bought arent threading all the way into the manifolds. they stop right after they entree pretty much but have the same thread as the ones i took out. what gives?

I used brass plugs. Short (like 1/4" long) bolts with the right thread would work too.

well the plugs did fit.........i just coudlnt hand tighten them but i took the old ones off by hand after they were loosned...o well. i didnt use any jb weld or quick steel so if one falls out ill go get another and put in it, im out 50 cents

The reason they didn't thread in is the ports in the manifolds aren't a straight pipe thread. They're flare seat tube threads. Go to a good autoparts store, the right plugs are fairly inexpensive and will actually seal without damaging the manifolds.
