Is my O2 in the right place
I had a guy weld my O2 bung for my car. He put it on the Y-pip near the first bend, not on any of my headers. They are Headman Shortys, with Y-pipe. I was just wondering if that is too far back to get a proper reading. He said that was the only place he could put it.

the correct place for the O2 is in the driver side header collector, seeing as it is further along the pipes, it will take a little bit more time to heat up and get a reading, not much longer, it will eventually get there, you should be fine where its at.

As far down as this has been placed, I'd go with a 3 wire heated sensor. Lot of posts on how to do it (and why). Not an expensive mod, and sure can't hurt, can only help.
