how much power can you push through 3 inch exhaust tubing?
I got a flowmaster catback and like it alot but was thinking a true dual setup like Willie's or others on true dual picture collection. I wish I would have researched more on true duals before buying the catback. I was in a hurry to get a nice sound but now would like to get a dual made in near future. I need other things done first but is it really worth the hassle?

You can get about 450-500hp out of a good 3in system. After that then you are starting to push it a little. Plus, if you go duals you will loose a lot of gound clearance that I know many people don't want to give up. The single 3in gives good ground clearance and performance.

I'd also say about 450HP is when you start really choking... Maybe 425HP.
If you are (or know) a good exhaust fabricator you can run duals and have just as much ground clearance as single. Its just you see most cars with duals are mainly "street/strip" kinda cars so ground clearance isnt there #1 concern. BUT if you want duals and stock-like ground clearance its very possible.

i seriously wouldn't waste the cash on running the tru-dual on a mild 350 TPI. wait till you have some serious mods or a charger. it is nice to have, but you can spend the money on other things that you'll benifit more from.

I see lots of true dual setups that look like they are fine. if they use a modified crossmember and run the pipes through there, and take out the support bar using SFC's instead then whats the problem?
