quick help w/header install........got to be in the exhaust shop tomrrow!!!!

quick help w/header install........got to be in the exhaust shop tomrrow!!!!

ok its 1:45 am where i am and i need to get my headers and y pipe on before it goes in the shop tomorrow........how do i get this little sensor off without breaking it. it needs to come off to get the headers in. also, do i use anything like sealant to hold on my new header gaskets????

i desperatly need some quick help guys!!!

squeez on both sides of the connector and it will come off. then just take the right size wrench and take the sensor out. You don't need any sealant for the header gaskets. Also the headers should go on without taking that sensor out. I didn't have to remove mine at all.

What sensor is that?


It can't be the O2 cuz its not in the header.

it's the coolant temp sensor for either the guage or the fan. can't remember which.

Are you sure because there is an open hole in my engine block right there and the wire is sitting unconected in my engine bay. My car does overheat so that would make sense. However, autozone.com says that it is UNDER HOOD, CENTER, UPPER ENGINE AREA, FRONT OF CARBURETOR, PASSENGER SIDE OF WATER OUTLET, MOUNTED IN INTAKE MANIFOLD

That is the radiator fan switch... It will probably crumble in to many tiny pieces if you try to remove it.. Not surprising though. Just will need a new connector..
