Need headers and free flowing cat

Ok, what should i get... i have a pretty stock l98 but i plan on doing some mods in the future like nitrous or maybe, big maybe, a supercharger. Should i pickup the 1 3/4 or 1 5/8 slps? Also, what is the best flowing aftermarket cat? Thanks guys.

You cannot go worng with either but I would go with the 1 5/8" headers since you want to maximise the low end of your L98. As for high flow cats, check out cat-co, car sound, dynomax, magan flow, and random tech. Any of those will fit the bill.

Even for some future engine mods... you still think that 1 5/8 would be ok? I am looking to make 300hp naturally aspirated or over 400 with a supercharger.

1 5/8" hedders don't really become a restriction until you are over 400 hp. If you go with a blower set-up I would go with a 1 3/4".

Excuse me, but did you perhaps see the sticky thread at the top of this forum?

I know there's quite a few of them up there now so you might have missed it. There are lots of good stories about what are the best headers and exhaust setups.

I'd say get the 1 3/4" SLP headers now. Why buy them twice? You wont hurt anything. I have 1 3/4" on mine with magnaflow converters and look at all my torque.

IIRC there was an article in car crap or Cold Rod that actually had a decent header artice. IIRC they went all the way to 2"? Anyone remember this?

Yeah, that's what i was leaning to... the 1 3/4. Just one thing though, on a pretty stock engine, will those hurt my torque?
