I really want to see the banks exhaust with the oval tip on each side. Ive done a search, but all the threads with pics, either only show both tips on one side or the pics are no longer available. can someone show me a picture of this installed on a camaro?

hmmm, Scott57350 had some awesome pics of his, but yeah they aren't available anymore.

hopefully somebody will post w/ some pics...if not, i should have mine sometime in the middle of next week with oval tips on each side.

it's $35 more i think to get the tips, but well worth it IMO from seeing the pics...but still, for the exhaust/tips/shipping, it's only like $330...you'd be hard pressed to beat that

hey sorry i don't think I have my pics anymore on my comp. let me look though and I'll see if I can find any. But everyone that asks what exhaust system tell me they love it and it sounds awsome and they can't belive the price when I tell them. I love the way it looks b/c the tips don;t stick out to far there rit in line with the bumper. and with the 4th gen back its only a quick hanger change that u can get at autozone

well no pics tonight...the s.o.b. rusty bolts connecting the pipe to the cat would NOT break loose. got some rust eater sitting on there right now, and i'll tackle it again in the morning. this should be a 45min-60min job but those 2 bolts are stopping me from goin any farther. anyway, should have pics up tomorrow

well, ended up having to take it to a shop. couldn't get the damn cat bolts off, and the shop couldn't either. they used the air wrench thing, and broke the heads off both the bolts without loosening them at all.

anyway, i had cut the cat off and weld in straight pipe in place of it. here's a couple pics:

Well just a thought but I always use SS bolts, locks and nuts when working on exh. systems. Costs a little more but well worth it.

Where do you order banks exhaust?
Is it the whole cat-back system for $330 as mentioned by someone on this thread?

Thanks

Never heard it on a 4th gen, but I'd imagine it would sound great. IMO, 4th gen's with exhaust sound MUCH better than 3rd gen's with exhaust. Banks sounds great on 3rd gens, I'm sure it'd be incredible on 4th gens.

i heard one on a 4th gen at a rally a year or so ago..the tips on the car gave it away and I talked with the guy a little bit about how he liked it..He was really happy with it and said he bought it off ebay from a guy who was parting out his car.in fact he did not know banks even still made the systems!...It sounded REALLY good on the LT1

banks
I just ordered one. The split 4th gen look is an additional $35 for a system total of $310 (305tpi). Shipping was $50 on top of that. Enginetech was very helpful and friendly and they told me that I should have the system in 3-4 wks. I don't think they are stocking them, but getting them from Banks as they need them, who knows, maybe banks is fabricating them to order.FYI, I called Banks about getting one directly from them and they sent me right to enginetech.

I pretty much think that entec is the only company getting the systems from Banks.I don't know if they have a special deal with Banks or not as far as them being the only ones who sell it,but I am quite sure you will really like it when you get it on!

I will take some more pics. this weekend and post them. Which angle would you like to see?? It is a great system and you can't go wrong for that price. I still have the stock set up and I had to go to a truck place to get the 3" exhaust to fit the stock 2 3/4" pipe after the cat's. Oh ya it sounds ammmmazing.

I am really thinking of getting the banks cat-back. I have a flowmaster 80 series catback on now. How do the to compare? Is the banks going to be louder? I want louder I am just not impressed w/ the 80 series on my trans am. On my camaro I have just the 80 series muffler only and it sounds much better than on the tans am? Any feedback welcome!

I just ordered mine yesterday. I have read that its a lot better sound than the flowmaster, also read its louder. I have the flowmaster on my car with SLP 1 3/4ths and single cat.. it sounded ok, but really not spectacular or anything. I installed a 3 inch cutout and that was fun, just a little tooo loud when its screaming at a constant level when going 70-75 down the highway for 20 min. I capped it and it doesn't even feel like my car is on anymore.. haha. The cat broke up on me and i now have straight pipe, but not before it puked into the muffler. So looks like i am going to run open headers until the banks system comes in.

Also.. whats the difference in the catback vs just having the muffler on your other car? Pipe size? Quality of bends? Type of cat? difference in the engines or headers? There is a lot of different things that effect the sound of exhaust. If you are able to get the system closer to the way you like it by changing things aruond the muffler, it could be cheaper than a whole new cat-back.

Thanks for the pics! Looks good but you can not really see the tips that well. I think I am leaning more towards the loud mouth. I like the look of the banks but I love the sound of the loud mouth. I am torn!
