A question about cats...

Hey guys... a while ago I joined up, and have been lurking. I was gonna do a swap into my POS camaro, but I broke down and bought one with a V8 already in it. Got a good deal, but the thing's gonna be a project.

It's an 86 z28. 5.0TPI.

Anyways, I need a cat for it, and I need to spend as little as possible initially, just to get the darn thing on the road. I'm thinking of a catco universal, but I don't know which size I need.

Also, what can I expect to pay for installation of this bad boy?

Thanks guys. Lovin my new F-body ;-)

With the original Y-pipe(which you probably have unless it's got headers) and original cat-back(which you might not have anymore), you'll need a cat with a 3" inlet/3" outlet, with an outlet that has a ball flange fitting so it will bolt right up. But if your cat-back isn't original, then you'll have to measure what you have.
