Header help please

First off, i really don't know much about cars. I went out and bought a set of hooker 2210's to install in my 87 Iroc. Well, i thought it would be difficult to install them but not a pain in the ***. I didn't think that i would have to lift the engine to get them in or replace the starter

3 months later and my car is still not running because i just gave up trying to install these headers Now, i have searched the boards and i couldn't find an answer to my question. Are there any problems when installing Hedman shortie headers? i really, really don't want to have to lift the engine to get them in(that's why i gave up on the other ones and plan on selling them). If there are no problems installing them, what is the part # so i can order them from ACS

Thanks in advance for all the help

Pretty much ever shorty header tailored to 3rd gens fit without any problems. Sure it takes some coaxing and swearing along with some good 'ol elbow grease here and there. But for the most part they should go right in. You may want to remove the AC compressor and the AIR components to help you out. i would look at the Hooker 2055's if I were you.

They all require something, like Shifty says. Move the AC to the side, jack up the engine, bend brake lines, remove the alternator.

i loosened the tranny mount and took out the through bolts for the motor mounts and jacked the engine up to were the dist. cap was hitting the firewall. and it made things a hell of alot easier. it's not that big of a deal. altho i did this for shorties and i doubt it was something i needed to do but made it easier.

Sometimes it is easier to remove 3 bolts and be done with it than fight with all the other stuff in the way.
