So I am officially frustraited...

So I've been driving my car around all summer. Making plans for my headers and exhaust install at the end of July.

The exhaust was leaking a little, dead giveaway that it was probably going to need to be replaced eventually. But it has not been too bad. The guy that owned the car before me kept the stock exhaust piping and installed a single outlet (down pipe no less) borla muffler. I have all the stuff for my exhaust sitting on my living room floor with the exception of my Hooker headers, which are (supposedly) being delivered from ACS any day.

Well, I am parking at Target last night and on my way into the spot I heard the crash of death. The Exhaust hanger in the back snapped and the muffler fell right to the ground. I immediately stopped, but by the time I got in a safe spot the exhaust had been dragged enough to yank the pipe completely out of the catalytic converter as well. Boy was it a sight to see. I stood back and took a good look, the front end was hanging down toward the nose of the car and the muffler was hanging off the back, held together only by the piece going over the rear axel.

So like the [modest] cunning genius that I am [/modest] I bolted the muffler to the remainder of the rear hanger, and used 2 coat hangers to tie up the front. Also required was a piece of twine tied to the pipe and routed between the ground effects and through the driver's side door so that I could keep the bastard from rubbing the road all the way home.

So basically... the headers that I ordered over a month ago are still not here. I called last week and ACS said that they shipped them last Monday afternoon... but they had a virus that did not allow them to give me a tracking number... Not that I mind driving my girlfriends turbo Saab or anything... but I want my freaking $600 headers.

Wonder why it has taken so long to get your headers...

Do you mind if I ask how you found that out?

i sorta have to tell u the whole story to get it....

ok so i orders my headers on a mon. the guy i talked to sed they would be at my house that fri. so when they weren't i called and found out that the guy told me wrong info and that they would be at my house tue or wed of the next week. when they weren't i called again, they were having problems with UPS and sed that at lastest they should be at my house at the end of the week (so it would be 2 weeks) and they still weren't at my house so when i called them they sed that when they contacted UPS about it and UPS told them they were sitting in a shipping dock and not being delivered yet....but ACS took care of the UPS crap and they got to my house....i also should tell u that my headers were already coated when i called to order them (from a canceled order i guess) so they didn't have to order any from headman or spend time to coat. it was put them in a box and ship em...yours they might of had to get them from the header co. then coat em and ship em, so it might be a little longer.

okay, so here's the update.

I called ACS this afternoon and talked to some other guy in their office. I explained the whole story to him, what I was waiting for, and how long I have been waiting. I also told him that my car now had no exhaust and that I really need these pipes.

He didn't have an answer for me so he told me that he would call me back once his manager got there. Well, 2 hours later I get a call from their secretary, who tells me that the headers have not even been shipped out yet. She told me that they appologize and that they will be sending them air-mail tomorrow for delivery on Friday afternoon. When I asked her what happened she told me that she did not know because she was only the receptionist.

I am very frustraited by this whole thing, but I am still keeping me cool because I am expecting a really good product...

Although, if they forget to switch my air tubes.. I think that I am going to lose it.

*Update*

Well, I got my headers last Friday as promised and they looked great. Although I waited a month and a half... I must say that their product is really fantastic. My only two complaints are that ...

1) The O2 Bung was ceramic coated inside... so when I was under the car, trying to put the sensor in, the threads would not catch. I spent 3 hours going to stores, and looking for the right tap to match the threads on the sensor, and another hour making sure that it was in right.

2) They shipped me the headers and y-pipe without any hardware at all. I don't know if it's because they were in a hurry to get it to me, or what, but I had no bolts that were long enough or matched the threads for the flanges on the collectors.

Great product... but for the time the customer has to spend waiting for them, I don't think that it's unfair to ask for a threaded hole and some bolts.

Would I order from them again? Only if I were guaranteed that they would be here in a reasonable amount of time.
