Dynomax...

My intermediate pipe is completely busted and my dad took my car to CarX today to get some prices. They said it would be 290 for a stock i pipe and a dynomax muffler. Now im not looking for big horsepower gains but will this sound quite a bit louder than a stock muffler. Or do i want to get a 3" i pipe?

$290 sounds a bit high too. If you have a Midas near you, ask them for a quote.

Otherwise, just buy a nice cat-back and install it yourself, its really quite easy when everything is new. I had a rough time with mine (actually had to go to Midas to get my muffler welded on) because it was used and the person before me cut it in some stupid spots.

Nevertheless, I paid $220 (parts and muffler welding) for a $440 (shipped price) exhaust system. SLP 3" 2OTL Sounds GREAT!

Look at the complete Dynomax catback for a TPI car, which should fit with a little work. The I-pipe attachs to the stock y-pipe/cat and then widens to 3" all the way over the axel into the muffler. Not to mention the I-pipe will be mandrel bent from Dynomax. Price was @ $165 for the complete system IIRC.

Just a suggestion.
