headers without O2 & knock sensor mounts
Also known as a "dumbass newbie question".
I have got hold of a set of 3" Hookers & y-pipe for my more-or-less stock '85 Z-28. I say more-or-less because I have already fitted a stage 1 Edelbrock cam and am about to fit a Weiand 8004.
Question is, the headers don't have mount points for the O2 & knock sensors. What are the consequences of leaving these off, is it necessary to braze on mounts for them or can I feed them a 'safe' voltage to satisfy the ECM?
Cheers

The knock sensor screws into the block drain on the passenger side. Some people have had to reroute the wire to avoid the hot header pipes, but otherwise there isn't any issue with the knock sensor and headers.
The computer needs the input from the oxygen sensor to operate the carb correctly. So, it's best to get a fitting welded into the collector (typically on the driver's side).
I'm assuming your car has computer controlled ignition and carb. Some export models (like to Canada) didn't.

Thanks for that - yup, it's a CC Q-Jet so the O2 sensor reports back to it.
My misunderstanding about the knock sensor, thanks for the correction.
Guess a little more work than I intended, having to weld on the bung but it's fairly clear that it's not an option to discard it.
