open shortys vs. open L/Ts
Hey guys I have edelbrock tes headers and I was going to go with some hedman longtubes but I was thinking and i would like to lower my car and also I can;t justify it, If i get two 2 1/2inch pipes coming off the headers with cutouts right there then aftere the cutouts have them merge into the I-pipe. Woudl longtubes with cutous really make more power thewn the ope shortys or is the gain barly noticable?? thanks

I have headman lt's and my car is dropped 1.5-2 ish. Problem is that the headman's have the collector really tight to the floor(points directly at clutch slave cylinder) and I've heard people say that you can't use them on a manual trans car because of this. I'm running a mechanical clutch w/ the trans standing up square, so I get away w/ this. - They should make a difference.

The simpliest thing would probably be a "Y" in each down-pipe that goes to a cut-out. You would want the length of the tube going to the cut-out to be similar to the length of long tubes with a collector extention - something along the lines of 35-40" from exhaust port to cut-out opening.
