exhaust systems organized by volume

Just curious if anyones thought about putting together a chart or something, just "ranking" the different exhaust systems as far as volume at idle and at higher RPM's....I know headers and stuff like that has a big part with that, but if there was a way to just either rank them with or without headers...I know it would be hard to get a bunch of similar cars together at once to do this, and i dont really know of any better way....but its just a thought i had...

There are way to many variables that determine loudness on a motoer excluding headers.
They only true way would be to have a 'control' subject (car) and bolt all the catbacks on to it and then measure with a dB meter.

The easiest way (IMO) to determing lous ranking it the way sound is deadened.
Obviously, a system with bullets/resonators/straight through being loudest, sound cancelling next (ie flowmaster, no dampening material), chambered (ie: hooker{esque}), and standard turbo (ie: dynomax). Just my opinoin though....
