ok i decided im gettin a 3" cat-back exhaust but i only have the stock 2 1/2" or 2 1/4" cat. so i wanted to just weld on a reducer, the problem is how can i do this with chevys funky device taht connects the cat and the intermidet pipe( the think usin 2 bolts that are slid on to the pipes? how would i make it be 3"

 

Most cat backs tailored for your engine code are 3" and have the reducer already attached and will bolt right up to your stock cat. You can just cut the reducer off when you go with a 3" cat.
