Heat shields not required after AIR removal ? ? ?
I removed my smog pump and all the AIR stuff, but still have the stock exhaust manifold. I removed all the heat shields and accidently trashed one of them getting it off, so the question remains . . . do I need these if I removed the AIR system.
It seems to me the only danger is the plug wires run around here, but hey, they were there before too.
Thoughts?
It sure makes it easier (and looks cleaner too) to work on the plugs, etc. but I sure don't want to cook anything.

i wouldn't worry about it. if you had headers on there, they wouldn't be on there with them, either. i just took mine off cuz i'm putting headers on, but they were nothing bit a pain in the butt anyways - mainly when changing plugs...
