does anyone have or can tell me were to get a sound clip of a camaro with a 80 series muffler on a 305 H.O. thanks

 

I dont have a sound clip for you but, I have a Y-pipe off a 350 (modified to fit) and a 3in Catback Flowmaster Exhaust with the 80 series Muffler......... I did hallow out the cat too. The damn thing scared the **** out of me when I fired it up the first time....... and everytime I start it, it suprises me how freakin loud it is.... Rumbles so beautifully, and justs screams when pulling away from a stop (not even punching it). If you want loud, go for it. If you dont want consatantly loud, setting off car alarms, screamming from every stop light...... find another

 

In my experience

I have an 80 on stock exhaust with a stock cat and it aint too freakin impressive it gives a good tone at idle but nothing on the top

 

I started my car one day and it set off a car alarm And just a few weeks ago I went by an eclipse with a body kit, wing...etc and set off his alarm when I drove by

I am looking for something not quite as loud as the 80 series, but with a nice strong low tone at idle and a bit aggressive when i punch it.

anybody know of something like that?

 

Hooker Catback?

 

Get the Hooker 3", my car has a cool throaty tone at cruise and is rude when WOT

 

Here's one of my car with a 305 TBI. No cat 3" pipe from y-pipe to muffler. Everything else is stock.

thANKS GUYS FOR THE ADVICE...I JUST GOT MY 80 SERIES AND I INSTALLED IT...IT SOUNDS MEAN.. I ALSO TOOK THE CAT OUT AND CLEANNED ALL THE INSIDE SO ITS A STRAIGHT PIPE... IT ACUALLY DOES SET CAR ALARMS OFF...EVERYTIME I START IT AND GO BY MY NEIGHBOORS SUBARU HIS ALARM STARTS SCREAMING.......IT SOUNDS AWSOME, I'LL TRY TO GET A SOUND CLIP SOON ...THAKS AGAIN

right now i have 3" pipesand a dynomax muffler, im takin that off and puttin my 80 series on it. the dyno max sounds nice, but i bought the flowmast a while ago really cheap and i want that on there instead.

 

I just got a flomaster 80 on my stock camaro exhaust and it dosent sound that great and what i was hopeing for.

i think its my stock exhaust manifold and my cat.

any tips would help .

 

clean out your cat........ if your car does not need to pass inspection...i cleaned mine and it sounds killer

 

My 80 series on my stock exhaust sounded awesome. Was louder than my hooker catbackI have now. Much better grunt at idle too.

 

Flowmaster definetly sounds better than Hooker.

OK I was wrong, Flowmaster sounds alot better than Hooker! It's really subjective, but that's just MO.

well i dont need to pass inspection so i will just cut out the cat and put some hooker super comp headers with the high flowing y-pipe thay come with and i hope that makes a alot louder.
