Edelbrock headers 50 state legal
I have the edelbrock headers and I just moved to Maryland so I had to get my car inspected. The problem is that the inspector is unsure if the headers are legal in MAryland even though it has the E.O. Number stamped on the passenger side. So I was hoping that someone would be able to tell me where I would find some good concrete proof that I can show him to prove that the number makes the headers legal. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

If the headers are the Tubular Exhaust System (TES) they are 50 State legal. You should be able to tell if they have the A.I.R. tubes hooked up to them and the O2 sensor. If they have those they are most likley the TES headers and are for sure legal here in MD.

Technically, they are only legal if the application intended for the part number is what your car is.
Call up Edelbrock customer service for assistance. They should be more than willing to help you (as long as you remain civil, that is). Have as much information about the headers with you as possible (E.O. number, p/n stamped on the headers; your vehicle information, VIN 8th digit, etc.).

Yes, they are the TES headers and have the A.I.R tubes. ALl emissions equipment is there, but the inspector thinks that only factory style headers are legal, which would only be relevant to Mustangs since they came with headers. I just need a solid source that says the eo number makes them legal.

One thing you might try:
"Call up Edelbrock customer service for assistance. They should be more than willing to help you (as long as you remain civil, that is). Have as much information about the headers with you as possible (E.O. number, p/n stamped on the headers; your vehicle information, VIN 8th digit, etc.)."
If necessary, they may even provide the EPA regulations that discuss acceptable replacement parts. That is something that a competent inspector should know, however.

Why not talk to someone at an inspection place? They have to make the final decision on passing it anyway.
