LT1/LS1 Exhaust Compatibility

LT1/LS1 Exhaust Compatibility
I have a 92 Camaro RS with a 305 TBI in it.
I want to put a Banks cat-back system on it, but I'm not sure if it is compatible with an LT1 or LS1 swap that I'm considering doing by next summer.
If I do the swap, will the cat-back have to go? Also, the if I but hooker 1 5/8" headers they'll fit right onto the LT1, but not the LS1 right?
If anyone happens to know what smog requirements there are in CA if you do an LT1 swap that'd help too (IE, 2 cats, more 02 sensors, etc).
I know I want to get better exhaust now, but I don't want to have to replace it all if I decide to do a swap.
