good ol EPA
so here's the deal. I am not sure but i can guess many people might of talked about this already. my topic is emissions. any way i can get out of it? i want to do some mods and stuff and that's the only thing that holds me back. any advice or previous posts would help. thanks for your time

If you check out the TBI forum, there is a bunch you can do without getting the EPA excited. Start with the stickies at the top of the forum. The sig below shows what I've done to a similar low-performance system and still stay within the requirements of the regulations.
You can swap to a later emissions-certified system such as LT1 or LS1 without getting the EPA excited.
Otherwise, don't figure on the Board sanctioning discussions of ways to skirt the law. If the vehicle is going to be "off road only", then you can do whatever you want.

Every TBI specific performance part on the market ensures that they confine with smog laws across the US. Any other non TBI specific mod (using TPI specific headers per-sae) will usually still have emission provisions and keep you legal. Tuning is the key. I know many people with heads and cammed LO3's running without AIR and EGR and have no problem passing the sniffer with nothing more than a solid tune and a cat.
