Stock y pipe and 3" cat compatibility
I just got my new exhaust today and plan on having it installed soon, but I also want to put a new cat on. I was looking at the Catco direct fit part no. 9118 3" inlet and outlet, will this fit the stock y-pipe?
Also I plan on installing Hooker 2055s later on. Will I have any problems then or should I wait until I have the headers to do the new cat?
Thanks for any help, Chris

The Catco direct fit WILL fit, I know because I have a full 3" system hooked up to my stock y-pipe via a reducer. Whatever shop you take it to should easily be able to weld a reducer or expander on to your y-pipe to make it fit the 3" cat.

The easiest and least expensive approach would be to wait until you have all the parts for the entire exhaust system and install it all at the same time.
